Purpose: The California Child Welfare Training (CACWT) system, serviced by Touchpoint Prodigy, a private tech firm specializing in information systems management and workforce development through iPASS solutions, exists as a vital component of the CalWISE Partnership to centralize and optimize the delivery of state-mandated child welfare training across California. Touchpoint Prodigy focuses on identifying collaborative project touchpoints and streamlining solutions through direct services or integrated partner solutions.
This system is overseen by the California Department of Social Services' Child Welfare Learning and Evaluation Bureau - Child Welfare Workforce Development Section (CWWDS). CACWT's role within CalWISE is to provide a streamlined, accessible, and continuously evolving online platform that empowers county social workers, supervisors, and placement probation officers to efficiently complete required training, track progress, and access essential resources.
By meticulously managing work process policies, implementing strategic system enhancements, and integrating external platforms, CACWT ensures an impactful and consistent curriculum experience. Furthermore, CACWT actively solicits and incorporates feedback from system participants and administrators, demonstrating its commitment to continuous improvement and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the California child welfare workforce. This collaborative approach ensures that CACWT serves as a foundational tool for enhancing professional development and ultimately, reinforcing safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families across the state.
Who Has Access: All county social workers in California have access to the CACWT platform. This system offers a one-stop shop for mandated training, allowing users to easily complete required courses, track progress, and access relevant resources. While there are limitations for how and when community partners can create individual accounts, they can still access training materials directly from the "Community Partners" tab. Plans include integrating additional service departments, such as CPOC, System of Care, and CCR.
How to Contribute: The CACWT system constantly evolves, and we welcome your input! If you have questions or suggestions on how to improve the platform, please contact us at CWSTrainingQuestions@dss.ca.gov. Your feedback is valuable in ensuring the CACWT continues to effectively meet the training needs of California's child welfare workforce.
